How every class runs

Why The Lab

Hard training. Zero ego.

The Lab isn't a fight club and it isn't a fitness fad. It's a clean, disciplined academy where technique comes first and everyone — kids, parents, total beginners, competitors — trains side by side.

We've heard the same thing for years from the people who walk in nervous: the room is welcoming, the coaching is world-class, and the place is spotless. That's the whole point.

Before your first class

Good questions, straight answers.

I've never trained before. Can I really start from zero?+

Absolutely — most of our members walked in with no experience at all. Your first class is free, you'll be paired with a coach, and we break everything down step by step. You don't need to be in shape first. You get in shape by training.

Do I need to buy a gi before my first class?+

No. Come in comfortable athletic clothes for your free trial and we'll get you a gi to borrow. Once you decide to keep training, we'll help you pick one up.

Is jiu-jitsu safe? I don't want to get hurt.+

Jiu-jitsu is built to be trained hard and trained safely. Beginners drill technique and roll at a controlled pace, and our coaches keep the room disciplined. You set your own intensity — there's no hazing here.

What ages do you teach?+

Kids from about age 4 all the way up through adults of every age. Classes are grouped by age and level, so your six-year-old and you can both find the right room.

How much does it cost?+

We offer flexible memberships to fit different schedules and goals — the easiest first step is a free trial class so you can feel the room before anything else. Call or message us and we'll walk you through the options.
